I can totally understand why some students will get confused with this. This question from a student on my Instagram channel ( Get English Tips) was asking for the difference between 'Did you see' and 'Did you saw' in English grammar.

How would you answer this student question?

Practice your English and write below how you would explain the answer to this. You can also write a couple of sentences and I'll check them for you

Here's the transcript:

So it's always, always 'Did you see', 'Did you see'

We always use the base verb infinitive. 'Did you see', 'Did you eat', 'Did you play', 'Did you go' etc.

So 'Did you' plus base infinitive and when we answer, we always answer with the Verb 2.

So 'Did you see?' 'Yes, I saw' or 'No, I didn't see'.

Would be great to see you on my Instagram Channel: Get English Tips
